A compact medium to large shrub having densely held, wine red, 7 lobed leaves that mature to a dark purple. New summer shoots of bright red contrasting nicely with the dark mature foliage. Spectacular with sunlight shining through the leaves bringing out the deep fiery red tones. Crimson autumn display. A compact, smaller form, maturing to half the size of Acer p. Bloodgood. 4 metres
